1992 African Cup of Nations qualification

A total of 37 teams entered to participate in the African Cup of Nations in 1992 in Senegal.

Defending champions Algeria and Senegal hosts were set for the final round. Mauritania prevailed against Gambia in a pre-judging by. Played in six groups of four and two groups of five. The eight group winners and the two runners-up of the five groups qualified for the final tournament in Senegal.
