The 20th IAAF World Cross Country Championships IAAF found on March 21, 1992, in Franklin Park from Boston ( United States) instead.

The men started over a distance of 12.53 kilometers, the women over 6.37 km, 7.8 km and the juniors on the junior women over 4.005 km.
