1992 Prva HNL
The first season of the first HNL was opened on 28 February 1992 at the Maksimir stadium and ended after 22 match days, on 13 June 1992. The first goal of the newly formed League scored Željko Adžić already in the first minute of the game Hask Građanski against Cibalia Vinkovci. Because of the war, Croatia NK Osijek, Vinkovci Cibalia, NK Zadar, Dubrovnik NK and NK Šibenik contributed some of their home games in other cities.

Master
By a 4-1 win on the last game in the home stadium Poljud Hajduk Split was for the first time after 1979 (then in Yugoslavia ) champion. Overall, it was the twelfth league title for the club, the third in Croatia and the first in the first HNL.

UEFA did not allow Croatian associations for the European Cups in 1992/93.
Relegated team
1991/1992 there were no losers since the league was expanded in the following season on 16 clubs.
