1993–94 UEFA Champions League

The UEFA Champions League 1993/94 was the second season of the most important European competition for club teams in football under this name and the 39th overall. The competition took 42 national champions this year, a new record number of participating. With Cwmbran Town was first a representative from Wales in the national champion competition at the start, as was held in the 1992/93 season with the League of Wales there for the first time a championship. For the first time also took teams from Georgia, Moldova, Belarus and Croatia participated as representatives of new successor states of the Soviet Union and Yugoslavia. Holders Olympique Marseille was not allowed to compete because of a one-year ban due to the bribery scandal in the preseason. The final took place on 18 May 1994 at the Olympic Stadium Spiridon Louis in Athens.

Mode

This season there were changes to the previous season. Following the group stage, there was a semi-final, in which the two first and second placed both groups met on cross each other. The two winners moved on to the finals.
