1993 AFC Women's Championship

The 9th Asian Cup Women was held in the period from 3 to 12 December 1993 in Malaysia. It was played in Kuching, Sarawak. The winner was the fourth time in a row China to a 3-0 victory over North Korea.

Mode

There were no qualifiers. All eight teams entered directly took part in the tournament and were divided into two groups of four. Within the preliminary groups, each team plays once against each other. The group winners and the best runners-up spot to reach the semi-finals. The semi-final winners reach the finals, the semi-final losers play for third place.

China is the fourth time Asian champions. Next to China, Japan qualified for the FIFA Women's World Cup 1995.
