1993 NHL Expansion Draft

The NHL Expansion Draft 1993 was held on 24 June 1993 by the National Hockey League in Quebec City, Canada. The draft was necessary, since the league before the 1993/94 season with the Florida Panthers and the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim added two franchises and had to be filled with players the leadership of both teams.

Regulate

Each of the 24 NHL teams in 1993 had the right to ever goalkeepers, five defenders and nine strikers to block from their squad, so they were not available in the expansion draft. In addition, all players who were only a year or two professional players were also excluded from the Draft.

During the draft, 48 players, two were chosen from each team, with either a goalkeeper or defender could be drawn from an existing team at a time. This meant that six teams goalkeeper and a striker, 16 teams a defender and a striker and two franchises two strikers lost because the Panthers and the Mighty Ducks of three goalkeepers, eight defenders, strikers had 13 pod judge for their squad.

Phase II

In the second phase of the expansion draft in 1993, which was held on 25 June 1993, selected with the Tampa Bay Lightning, Ottawa Senators and San Jose Sharks, the three expansion teams the past two years, two players from the Florida Panthers and Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, which in turn could block a goalkeeper, five defenders and ten strikers. Each of the two team lost by the second phase, each a goalkeeper, defender and striker.
