1993 World Women's Handball Championship

The 11th World Handball Championship for Women was held in Norway from 24 November to 5 December 1993. A total of 16 teams were initially divided into four groups in a preliminary round against each other. Thereafter, the main round followed with six teams in two groups, and the last round of group for positions 13 to 16 At the end of the placement Games were held for the positions 3 to 12 and the final. World Cup 1993 Germany to a 22:21 victory after extra time in the final against Denmark.
