1994–95 Scottish League Cup

The Scottish League Cup was in 1994/95 played for the 49th time. The Scottish Football League Cup began on 9 August 1994 and ended with the final on 27 November 1994 at the Ibrox Park in Glasgow. The cup competition was contested among the participants of the Scottish Football League and the Scottish Premier League. If a duel is not decided after 90 minutes plus extension, it came to the penalty shootout. In the final, the Raith Rovers won from the Second Division 6-5 after a penalty shoot-out against Celtic Glasgow. After a final defeat 1948/49, against the Rangers, the Rovers could win the League Cup for the first time. The victory in the final eligible to participate in the UEFA Cup 1994/95, in which the third round of the competition was reached. After victories against GÍ Gøta and ÍA Akranes the team from Kirkcaldy lost that was previously ascended to the First Division against FC Bayern Munich. It was the first time that a unterklassige Scottish team failed to qualify for a European Cup competition.
