1994 Veikkausliiga

The First Division in 1994 was the fifth season of the First Division, the highest Finnish league for football the men.

The league was increased to 14 teams. Champion Tampere Pallo - Veikot. Last year's Sixth had risen only two years ago. The projection on MYLLYKOSKI was two points in the final table. The two promoted FC Oulu and Kuopion PS rose again.

Performance in the European Cup in 1994/95

During the 1994 First Division season three Finnish teams at international competitions were in use, which had qualified after the 1993 First Division season for it:

  • Runner Myllykosken Pallo -47 ( UEFA Cup 1994/95 ) Round 1: 3:0 and 0:1 Inter against Slovakia FK ASK Slovnaft Bratislava
  • 2nd round: 1:2 and 1:1 against Portugal Boavista Porto
  • Round 1: 0:2 and 1:1 against Beşiktaş Istanbul Turkey

  • Runner Myllykosken Pallo -47 ( UEFA Cup 1995/96 ) Preliminary Round: 3-1 and 2-0 against Scotland Motherwell FC
  • Round 1: 1:1 and 1:7 against PSV Eindhoven Netherlands
  • Third Helsingin JK ( UEFA Intertoto Cup 1995) Group stage: 3rd out of 5 teams ( Group 5 )
