1995–96 Czech 1. Liga season

The season 1995/96 was the third regular host the first league, the second Czech hockey league. In the playoffs, the HC Slezan Opava and the HC Přerov translated by that qualified both for the Extra Liga relegation, while the HC Lev Hradec Králové descent into second league.

Mode

In the main round each of the 14 teams completed a total of 40 games. The top four teams qualified directly for the second playoff round, while the teams of five to twelve got in on the places in the first round in the playoffs. The two last placed athlete had to play in the relegation for the league. For a win, each team was given two points, a draw there was a point. For one defeat after regulation time gave no points.

  • HC Becherovka Karlovy Vary - H S Beroun HC 2:0 ( 3:1, 5:1)
  • HC Femax Havířov - IHC Pisek 1:2 ( 1:2 SN, 7:3, 3:9 )

Semifinal

  • HC Slezan Opava - IHC Pisek 2:0 ( 4:3, 4:1)
  • HC Přerov - HC Becherovka Karlovy Vary 2:1 ( 1:4, 6:3, 4:0)

Expulsion

The two last placed 1st League met in the relegation to the two best teams in the league two 2 - groups. The HC Karviná succeeded in promotion to the 1st League, while the HC Lev Hradec Králové descent into second league.
