The final disputed Martina Navratilova and Jonathan Stark against Gigi Fernandez and Cyril Suk, which won Navratilova and Stark in two sets. For Navratilova, it was the third mixed title at the Championships, while it was the successful launch ever at Church Road for Stark. Overall, Navratilova wrote in the winners' lists of Wimbledon for the 19th time.
In the career balance it was Navratilova for the seventh Grand Slam title in mixed doubles and the 56th overall. For Stark, it was the second Grand Slam doubles title after success in Paris the previous year.
