1996–97 Copa del Rey

The Copa del Rey 1996/97 was the 93rd edition of the Spanish Football Cup Copa del Rey.

The competition was launched on 4 September 1996 and ended with the final on 28 June 1997 at Estadio Santiago Bernabéu ( Madrid). Defender of the cup competition was Atlético Madrid. The title was won by FC Barcelona a 3-2 success after extra time in the final against Real Betis. As the Catalans qualified in the 1996/97 season of the UEFA Champions League, Real Betis took the European Cup Winners' Cup 1997/98 part.
