1996–97 Divizia A
The Divizia A 1996/97 was the 59th time in the history of Romanian football league Divizia A. It began on 31 July 1996 and ended on 14 June 1997. Between mid- December to end of February rested the game operation ( winter break ). Champion for the fifth time in a row Steaua Bucharest.
Regulate
The Divizia A played with 18 teams. The two last- placed teams were relegated in the Divizia B. For a victory, there were three points for a draw and one point for a loss no points. If two or more teams finish the season were tied, decided not goal difference, but a direct comparison.
Results
1 AS Bacau changed his name to FCM Bacau.
2 Oţelul Târgoviste changed his name to CF Chindia Targoviste.
