1996–97 Ukrainian Hockey Championship

The 1996/97 season was the fourth season of the Ukrainian Hockey League, the highest Ukrainian Hockey League. Champion for the third time in club history the HK Sokol Kiev.

Mode

In the main round each of the seven teams completed a total of twelve games. The top four teams qualified for the playoffs, where the Master was played. For a win, each team was given two points, a draw there was a point and a defeat.
