1996 International Formula 3000 season
The Formula 3000 1996 season was the 12th season of Formula 3000th It began on 11 May 1996 at the Nurburgring and ended on 12 October 1996 in Hockenheim. A total of ten races were run. 1996 was the first season in which all teams used the same chassis, engines and tires. The champion of the driver Jörg Müller won. The champion of the teams won Super Nova Racing.
Starter box
All drivers used Lola T96/50 chassis with Zytek - Judd V8 engines and tires from Avon.

There were ten races. The race at Hockenheim ( first race ), Spa -Francorchamps and Estoril were held as support to the Formula 1.

1 Kenny Bräck was disqualified from his first place in Hockenheim for dangerous driving.
2 Laurent Redon was disqualified from the race at Estoril, because he took the wrong position on the grid.
3 Thomas Biagi was disqualified at Hockenheim because ignoring a drive-through penalty.
