1997–98 ECHL season

The 1997/98 season was the tenth regular season of the East Coast Hockey League ( ECHL ). The 25 teams completed in the regular season every 70 encounters. The point of best team in the regular season were the Louisiana IceGators, while the Hampton Roads Admirals won their third championship in the play- offs.

Team changes

The following changes were made before the start of the season:

  • The Knoxville Cherokees were to Florence, South Carolina, and played from then resettled under the name Pee Dee Pride.
  • The Chesapeake Icebreakers were added as an expansion team in the league.
  • The New Orleans Brass were added as an expansion team in the league.
