1997 Copa CONMEBOL
The Copa Conmebol 1997 was the sixth playout of the South American club football competition, which was comparable to the European UEFA Cup. It took part in first 18 teams, so that a qualifying round was necessary. The Brazilian representative Atlético Mineiro won the final against last year's finalist CA Lanús from Argentina for his second title in the competition.
