1997 World Women's Handball Championship
The 13th World Handball Championship for Women was held in Germany from November 30 to December 14, 1997. 24 teams took part in the World Cup.
Venues
The World Championship was held in the cities of Berlin, Hanover, Saarbrücken, Hamburg, Sindelfingen, Neubrandenburg and Rotenburg an der Fulda. The two semi-finals and the finals were held in Berlin's Max -Schmeling -Halle.
