1998–99 ECHL season
The 1998/99 season was the eleventh regular season of the East Coast Hockey League ( ECHL ). The 27 teams completed in the regular season every 70 encounters. The point of best team in the regular season were the Pee Dee Pride, while the Mississippi Sea Wolves won in the play-offs, their first Kelly Cup ever.

Team changes
The following changes were made before the start of the season:
- The Louisville River Frogs have been to Miami, Florida, relocated and played from now on under the name Miami Matadors.
- The Raleigh Icecaps have been to Augusta, Georgia, moved and played from now on under the name Augusta Lynx.
- The Florida Everblades were added as an expansion team in the league.
- The Greenville Grrrowl were added as an expansion team in the league.
