1998 OFC Women's Championship

The football Ozeanienmeisterschaft women 1998 ( engl.: OFC Women's Nations Cup ) was the sixth playout of an oceanic continental championship in women's football and took place in the period from 9 to 17 October 1998 Auckland for the second time in New Zealand instead. In addition to hosts New Zealand took with Australia, Fiji and Papua New Guinea as well as the two debutants American Samoa and Samoa for the first time six teams in the tournament, which was the same as the qualifications of Ozeanienzone for the soccer Women's World Cup 1999. It was played in two groups of three teams. The group winners and runners reached the final round. There was not only a record number of participants, but with remarkable 112 goals in a total of 10 games also a record.

Australia was the second time the Oceania women's football and thus qualified as a representative of Oceania for the soccer Women's World Cup 1999 in the USA.
