Expulsion

The 11th place finisher of the season had to play 1 League in the relegation against the runner-up of the Thailand Division.

The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration met the Assumption School Sriracha from the 2nd league and was able to secure the whereabouts in the TPL with a victory.

  • " Tero Sasana " changed the club name to " BEC Tero Sasana ".

Queen's Cup

The sponsored by Singha Queen's Cup did not take place in this season due to lack of funding.

Thailand FA Cup

The Bangkok Bank FC won for the third time in club history the FA Cup.

Yamaha Thailand Cup

1998 Yamaha Thailand Cup was held for the 14th time. It is participated in a competition at the Main province teams from all regions of Thailand.

4 groups of 4 teams played to the quarter-finals, where in each case the two group winners qualified for the next round.

The final decision, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration to Nakhon Si Thammarat for themselves.

Continental competitions

  • The FC Royal Thai Air Force was justified as a champion for the Asian Club Championship participation, however, did not occur to financial reasons and BEC Tero Sasana instead took a starting place. BEC Tero Sasana reached the second round where they then retired to Dalian Wanda.
  • Sinthana reached the Asian Cup Winner 's Cup second round where the Kashima Antlers had to admit defeat.
