1999–2000 Coupe de France

The competition for the Coupe de France in the 1999/2000 season was the 83rd playout of the French Football Cup for men teams. This season, 6,096 clubs in France and its overseas departments and territories took part in it.

After completion organized by the regional subdivisions of the National Federation FFF qualifying rounds intervened in Zweiunddreißigstelfinale the 18 first division in a competition. From this round of competition was held after the classic Cup mode; ie, in particular, that the respective Fixtures without seedings or a power-rated or regional sorting of clubs from all still in the competition clubs will be drawn and only one match is played at the end of a winner it must be established ( and whether by extra time and penalties ), which then qualifies for the next round, while the loser is eliminated. Cup Winners' Cup was the defending champion FC Nantes. For the basis of their club colors so-called " Canaris " it was the third success in the eighth final. The coverage, however, dominated the march through an outsider to the finals: the amateurs of Calais Racing Union Football Club from the fourth division league CFA stood close in front of the big surprise. On the way to Calais switched from two initial ( Strasbourg, Bordeaux ) and two second division (Lille, Cannes). In contrast, the success of the fourth division also Garde Saint- Ivy Pontivy faded ( reaching the fourth round ) and the fact that it had at least brought a Zweitdivisionär among the best eight teams with Olympique Nimes, largely. For a club that plays in the fourth highest class, had never previously reached the final in the Coupe de France.
