1999 Alpine Skiing World Cup

The 1998/1999 season of the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup, organized by the began on 24 October 1998 in Sölden and ended on 14 March 1999 at the World Cup finals in the Sierra Nevada. For men, 33 races were held (10 runs, 5 Super G, Giant Slalom 8, 9 slalom ). For women, there were 34 races (9 runs, 8 Super -G, 9 Giant Slalom, Slalom 8 ). Then there were two each combination ratings.

The overall World Cup the men was in the last race, the giant slalom in Sierra Nevada, decided: Lasse Kjus had before this race 1429 points, Kjetil André Aamodt 1397 points. Kjus was seventh in the giant slalom and received 36 points, a total that is 1465 points. For Aamodt second place now would have been needed to overtake Kjus, but he came fifth and therefore remained behind Kjus.
