1time Airline

1time was a South African low-cost airline based in Johannesburg and a subsidiary of Afrisource Holdings. The company name "one time! " Is a South African idiom for " seriously ".

History

1time was founded in late 2003. The parent company looked after the terrorist attacks on 11 September 2001, the opportunity to cheap to buy aircraft and to establish the first low cost airline in South Africa. Began in January 2004, the ticket sales and flight operations was opened on 25 February 2004 with three daily flights between Johannesburg and Cape Town.

In February 2006, the subsidiary 1Time Zambia was established. You should offer cheap flights from Lusaka, but the plans were never realized.

In 2006, over one million passengers were transported on eight routes.

1time employed in March 2007, 420 employees, approximately 100,000 passengers transported every month and was listed on the Johannesburg Securities Exchange since 14 August 2007.

On November 2, 2012 presented a 1time flight operations, the Company shall be liquidated.

Objectives

From OR Tambo International Airport five national objectives were served, including Cape Town, Durban and Port Elizabeth. In addition, there were three international connections to Livingstone in Zambia, Maputo in Mozambique and outside the monsoon season ( April to June) on the Tanzanian island of Zanzibar belongs. It was the only 1time airline, connecting directly to Zanzibar Airport with Johannesburg.
