2. národní hokejová liga

The 2nd League ( officially second národní hokejová league ) is the third- highest division in the Czech hockey. The league, which was founded during the separation of the Czech Republic from Slovakia in 1993, is carried out by the Czech Ice Hockey Association. The winner of the playoffs the second league is entitled to participate in the 1st League relegation.

History

The League was founded in 1993, following the dissolution of Czechoslovakia and created as the third- highest division of the Czech Republic under the Extraliga and the first league. Below the second league there are various regional championships.
