2000–01 Coppa Italia

The Coppa Italia 2000/ 01, the most important Italian Cup competition began in the 2000/ 01 season on August 13, 2000, the first group matches. The two finals were held between Fiorentina and AC Parma on 24 May and 13 June 2001. The Fiorentina decided the final after a 1-0 away win at the Stadio Ennio Tardini and 1-1 at Stadio Artemio Franchi with a final score of 2-1 for himself and celebrated the sixth and so far last Coppa Italia title in the club history.

At the 53th edition of the Coppa Italia attended a total of 48 teams from the three top divisions of Italy. The top division, Serie A, provided a total of 18 clubs. The first eight teams in the final table of the preseason were set directly for the knockout stages. The crews of places 9-14 the previous season as well as the two best climbers of the past Serie B season were again set for the qualifying round.

The eight remaining places for the qualifying round were determined in a group stage. By the away win, the Fiorentina had already created a good starting position for the second leg, which one could no longer take despite the intervening residue, as Nuno Gomes scored the equalizer from the penalty spot. For Roberto Mancini, it was already the seventh Coppa Italia title of his career, but he won it for the first time as a trainer. Interestingly, he won it a year earlier even as a player with Lazio. Scorer this Coppa was striker Stefan Schwoch of Torino Calcio with eight goals.
