2000–01 French Division 1

The Division 1 2000 /01 was the 63rd season of the French Division 1 began the season on 28 July 2000 with the opening match between Olympique Marseille and ES Troyes AC ( Result: 3-1 ). As a climber OSC Lille, Guingamp and FC Toulouse came from the Ligue 2 this. The season as champion finished the FC Nantes and thus became the successor to the AS Monaco. Qualifying for the UEFA Champions League managed Nantes, Olympique Lyon and Lille ( qualification). For the UEFA Cup to Girondins Bordeaux and CS Sedan qualified. In the UEFA Intertoto Cup the following year, Stade Rennes, ES Troyes AC, SC Bastia and Paris SG played. Relegated to the Ligue 2 had AS Saint -Etienne, Toulouse FC and RC Strasbourg.
