2000–01 Kazakhstan Hockey Championship

The 2000/01 season was the ninth season of the Kazakh hockey professional league. It was attended by seven clubs in the competition. The title of the Kazakh champion secured for the eighth time in total Torpedo Ust- Kamenogorsk. Ust-Kamenogorsk repeated thus winning the title last year.

Mode

The seven participants played in a four- round, so that each team came up with the number of 24 games. The team with the most points at the end secured the championship.

For a victory in the regular time of 60 minutes, a team got two points, the losing opponent went away empty-handed. Event of a tie, each team received one point.

Final Table

At the end of 24 laps - Jessil Petropavlovsk and Gornjak Rudny contested only 22 - secured Torpedo Ust- Kamenogorsk sovereign the title. The team won 22 of their 24 games, defending the title. Renewed runner-up was Barys Astana, well before the ex- champion CSKA HK Temirtau. In the rear seats, there were Jenbek Almaty, Jessil Petropavlovsk, Junost Karaganda and Gornjak Rudny.

Torpedo Ust- Kamenogorsk played during the season - with both the first and second team - in parallel in the third-rate Russian Perwaja league. In addition, Torpedo Ust- Kamenogorsk participated in the IIHF Continental Cup part in the 2000 /01 season and came first to the second round before.
