2000–01 QSPHL season
The 2000/01 season was the fifth regular season of Ligue de hockey semi- professionnelle du Québec ( LHSPQ ). The 14 teams completed in the regular season per 44 encounters. The point of best team in the regular season were the Garaga de Saint- Georges, while the Mission de Joliette, the Futura Coupe won in the play- offs for the second time.
Team changes
The following changes were made before the start of the season:
- The Caron & Guay de Beaupré changed their name to As de Beaupré.
- The Nova d' Acton Vale changed their name to Beaulieu d' Acton Vale.
- The Aztèques d' Asbestos changed their name to Dubé d' Asbestos.
- The Blizzard de Joliette changed their name to Mission de Joliette.
- The Coyotes de Thetford Mines changed their name to Prolab de Thetford Mines.

Coupe Futura Playoffs
First, the top six teams in each division met in the pre- playoff teams from their division to the other, each team played six games. In Division Est finally Jonquière, St Georges, Asbestos and Thetford could qualify; in the Division Ouest Acton Vale, Joliette, Laval and St. Laurent.
