2000 AAPT Championships

The AAPT Championships in 2000 was the 22nd edition of the hard court tennis tournament in Adelaide. The tournament was the International Series tournament of the ATP part of the male series. It was, together with the Qatar Open in Doha mobile and the Gold Flake Open in Chennai in the first week of the season 2000 match held from 3rd to 10th January 2000. The prize money was in each case for single and double tournament $ 325,000. In individual 32 players competed against each other in a double there were 16 pairings.

Defending the individual competition was the Swede Thomas Enqvist, who failed to Local hero Lleyton Hewitt in this year's final. This was Hewitt's third success on the tour and already his second at the tournament in Adelaide.

In doubles, won the Australian pairing also Mark Woodforde and Todd Woodbridge, the thus began the succession of Gustavo Kuerten and Nicolás Lapentti. For both it was the 60th title, which they celebrated the most together. Also in this competition was Sandon Stolle with Lleyton Hewitt at his side in the final.
