2000 AXA Cup

The Axa Cup 2000 was the 23rd edition of the indoor tennis tournament in London. It was held for the third and final time in London, and from 2001 it was again held at the former workplace in Milan. The tournament was the International Series tournament of the gold part of the male ATP series. It coincided with the Abierto Mexicano de Tenis Pegaso in Mexico City from 21 to 28 February 2000, instead on hard court. In the years before was still played on indoor carpet. The prize money was in each case for single and double tournament $ 700,000. In individual 32 players competed against each other in a double there were 16 pairings.

Defender of the single was the Dutchman Richard Krajicek, who no longer took this year. Instead won the unseeded Swiss Marc Rosset on the 14th title of his career and the first this season.

In doubles, won the set at three South African pairing of David Adams and John - Laffnie de Jager, who thus began the succession of Tim Henman and Greg Rusedski. Henman lost on the side of his partner Yevgeny Kafelnikov in the quarterfinal.
