2000 Brighton International

The Samsung Open 2000 was the fifth and last edition of the indoor tennis tournament in Brighton. It was also the only time that the tournament was held in Brighton, previously it was held in Bournemouth. The tournament was the International Series tournament of the last part of the ATP series, since it is no longer included in the following season. It was, together with the Scania Stockholm Open in the last week before the game Tennis Masters Cup from 20 to 26 November 2000 and was organized held on a hard court surface. The prize money was for both single and double tournament for $ 375,000. In individual 32 players competed against each other in a double there were 16 pairings.

The single won the tournament top seed Briton Tim Henman, who thus the Romanian Adrian Voinea replaced as title holders. Voinea not stepped up to defend their title. For Henman it was the second title this season and the sixth of his career. He could enter so the only Brit in the list of winners of this ATP tournament.

Defender of the double were the American Jeff Tarango and David Adams from South Africa. While Adams did not participate in the tournament, Tarango succeeded with his this year's partner Michael Hill from Australia set to position two successful title defense. It was both Hill and Tarango for the only title of the season. It was also Tarangos 13 and second Karrieretiel Hills.
