2000 British Touring Car Championship season

The 43rd season of the British Touring Car Championship began on 7 April 2000 at Brands Hatch and ended in a night race on 16 September 2000 at Silverstone. After 24 races won again after 1997 Alain Menu before Anthony Reid and Rickard Rydell (all with Ford Mondeo ). Winning the Constructors' Championship was Ford

Changes

  • The Master of 1999, Laurent Aiello, drove in the BTCC 2000 not to defend his title. He went instead for Audi at Le Mans and in the newly launched DTM.
  • Honda won the Champion of 1994, Gabriele Tarquini, and Le Mans winner Tom Kristensen in support of James Thompson to the team.
  • Rickard Rydell joined Ford after Volvo had retired.
  • In the team of Vauxhall moved from Jason Plato also beaten from the BTCC manufacturer Renault, and Vincent Radermecker, formerly Volvo. Yvan Muller was competed for Vauxhall in the BTCC in 1999.
