2000 Citrix Tennis Championships
The Citrix Tennis Championships 2000, the 8th edition of the hard court tennis tournament in Delray Beach. It was the second time that this tournament was held in Delray Beach, previously was the site yet, Coral Springs. The tournament was the International Series tournament of the ATP part of the male series. It was held together with the Copenhagen Open and the Chevrolet Cup in Santiago de Chile from 28 February to 5 March 2000. The prize money was in each case for single and double tournament $ 325,000. In individual 32 players competed against each other in a double there were 16 pairings.
Defender of the individual tournament was the Australian Lleyton Hewitt, who did not compete this year at the tournament. Instead, the set of six Austrian Stefan Koubek won his only title of the season 2000. He won the final against the qualifiers Álex Calatrava from Spain in three sets. It was the second tournament of his career.
In doubles, the unseeded pairing won consisting of Brian MacPhie and Nenad Zimonjic. Zimonjić thus defending his title he won with even with Max Mirnyi in the previous year. Mirny failed on three set with his partner Mark Knowles in the semifinals. For Zimonjić it was the first title of the season and his second double victory total for MacPhie also the second career title, but the only win of the season.
