2000 Hall of Fame Tennis Championships

The Miller Lite Hall of Fame Championships 2000, the 25th edition of the tennis grass tournament in Newport. The tournament was the International Series tournament of the ATP part of the male series. It was, together with the Wideyes Swedish Open in Båstad and the UBS Open Gstaad from 10 to 16 July 2000, instead. It was the only grass tournament of game week. The prize money was for both single and double tournament for $ 350,000. In individual 32 players competed against each other in a double there were 16 pairings.

Defender of the single was the U.S. American Chris Woodruff, the top seeds in this year in the second round was eliminated. Instead, the unseeded Dutchman Peter Wessels won his only title on the ATP Tour. He also defeated the unseeded German Jens Knippschild in the final.

In doubles, won the two -seeded Israelis Jonathan Erlich and Harel Levy, which thus began the succession of Wayne Arthurs and Leander Paes. Both defending champions did not take part in this year in the tournament. For the Israeli pairing it was the first and only success in the 2000 season. Both it was also the first title of their careers.
