2000 St. Petersburg Open

The St. Petersburg Open 2000, the 6th edition of the local indoor tennis tournament. The tournament was the International Series tournament of the ATP series. It was played on Hard Court along with the Grand Prix de Tennis de Lyon from 6 to November 12, 2000 held in the sports and Kozertkompex Peterburgski. The prize money was for both single and double tournament for $ 775,000. In individual 32 players competed against each other in a double there were 16 pairings.

The single won the tournament top seed Russian Marat Safin, the Swiss Marc Rosset replaced so as titleholders. Rosset failed at position four set already in the first round. For Safin it was the sixth individual title this season and the 10th of his career.

Defender of the double were the American Jeff Tarango and Daniel Vacek of the Czech Republic, both of which did not participate in this year's tournament. Instead, won the set at position four pairing consisting of the Canadian Daniel Nestor and Kevin Ullyett from Zimbabwe. This presented both Nestor and for Ullyett the third title of the season, the previous they achieved but with different partners. Besides, it was Nestor's 15th doubles title of his career, for Ullyett it was the tenth.
