2000 Thai Premier League

The Thailand Premier League 2000 consisted of 12 teams. The League was known at that time as Caltex Premier League. At the end of the season BEC Tero Sasana celebrated his first league title in club history.

* The Thai Farmers Bank signed off end of the season from the league. * The Sinthana not increased in the Thailand Division 1 League off and instead took the place of the Thai Farmers Bank in the league. * The Zwölftplatzierte, the TOT was allowed in the play-offs and did not descend directly. The 11th place would be entitled to relegation, but since Sinthana took the place of the Thai Farmers Bank, the relegation place went to 12

Season notes

The Thai Farmers Bank FC withdrew at the end of the season from the league play back. This was due to the lack of financial resources as a result of the Asian crisis. The Kasikorn Bank (formerly Thai Farmers Bank ) was the owner and sponsor of the club at the same time and was hard hit by the crisis.

Queen's Cup

Bangkok Bank FC won the 27th edition of the Queen's Cup and the title overall for the 3rd time. In the final they defeated FC Sinthana on penalties 5-3. After the regular season ended with 2-2. The game was played in Suphachalasai Stadium.

Thailand FA Cup

BEC Tero Sasana won their first FA Cup.

Continental competitions

  • The Royal Thai Air Force reached at least the second round of the Asian Club Championship, where they were inferior PSM Ujungpandang from Indonesia.
  • BEC Tero Sasana reached the quarter- finals of the Asian Cup Winner 's Cup. There they were subjected to in the return match Shimizu S-Pulse in Japan.
