2000 UCI Track Cycling World Championships

The 90th UCI Track World Championships were held until October 29, 2000 at the Manchester Velodrome on 25. The program included twelve disciplines.

Most successful team was the German with four gold medals. However, there were numerous athletes who had participated in the Olympics a few weeks earlier in Sydney, not at the start. The most successful athletes was the German rider Jens Lehmann with two gold medals, followed by his team mate Stefan Steinweg with a gold and a silver medal.

As part of the World Championships, Chris Boardman adopted with a new hour record over 49.441 km from active competition. So He improved the old record by Eddy Merckx in 1972 about 49.431 km. ( Several meantime - also of Boardman - established records were from the International Cycling Union Cycliste International Union has been canceled since they had been made on special wheels. )
