Men's Singles of the Wimbledon Championships 2000.
The final disputed Pete Sampras and Patrick Rafter. Sampras won in four sets, defending his title. This was his seventh triumph at the Wimbledon Championships ( after 1993, 1994, 1995, 1997, 1998 and 1999), which he has now shared with William Renshaw record winner at this tournament. At the same time it was his 13th Grand Slam title overall, making it the record holder was now that he was a year ago caught up with Roy Emerson. Only nine years later his record of Roger Federer was first set and eventually surpassed.
