2001 Copa Libertadores

The Copa Libertadores 2001 due to the sponsorship of the automaker Toyota Copa Toyota Libertadores also, was the 42nd edition of the most important South American football competition for club teams. It was attended by 32 teams participate, with the number of participants was determined depending on the rank of the country in the CONMEBOL standings, and two representatives from Mexico and Venezuela, the determined two remaining qualifying places. The participants completed titleholder CA Boca Juniors. The tournament began on 6 February and ended on 28 June 2001 with the final second leg. The Argentine representative CA Boca Juniors won the final against Cruz Azul and for the fourth time in the Copa Libertadores.
