2001 Tennis Masters Cup

The Tennis Masters Cup 2001 was held from 12 to 18 November 2001 at the Sydney Superdome, Sydney, Australia; it was played on indoor hard court and was the 32nd edition of the competition. The corresponding double competition was - unlike the following Tennis Masters Cup - not in the same place instead, but in Bangalore, India on outdoor hard courts. The tournament was also recognized at the end of the 2001 season, but had to be postponed due to safety concerns for the period 28 January to 3 February 2002. This was the 28th edition of the double- petition, which was held here once under the name ATP World Doubles Challenge Cup. The Tennis Masters Cup was in addition to the four Grand Slams, the most important tournament in the men's professional tennis, but each took place at the end of the season and is part of the ATP Tour.

The winner was the Australian Lleyton Hewitt, it was his first of the two tracks at the Tennis Masters Cup. The double competition won Ellis Ferreira and Rick Leach, Ferreira was the first, Leach for the second title.
