2002–03 Heineken Cup
The Heineken Cup 2002 /03 was the eighth edition of the Heineken Cup, the main European cup competition in rugby union. It involved 24 teams from six countries. The final took place on 24 May 2003 at the Lansdowne Road stadium in Dublin instead. Cup Winners' Cup was the second time the French team Stade Toulousain, the defeated in the final USA Perpignan.
Mode
The participants were divided into six groups of four teams. Each team played one home and one away match against the three group opponents. For the quarter final, qualified the six group winners and two best runners-up.
The points are distributed as follows:
- 2 points for a win
- 1 point for a draw
Group stage
- Group winners qualified for the quarterfinals
- Two best runners qualified for the quarter-finals
