2002–03 Ligue 2

The 2002/03 season was the 64th staging of the previously mentioned French Division 2 Football Ligue 2 These were a league exclusively with professional teams. Second league champion FC Toulouse.

Were eligible to the 14 clubs who were relegated after the previous season, either in the first division on - even in the third league (National) or lower; to two Erstligaabsteiger and four climbers came from the National. Thus, in this season following 20 teams played for the championship of Division 2: relegated Movers

  • Three from the southwest (La Berrichonne Châteauroux, Chamois Niort, promoted FC Toulouse)
  • Five from the south-east ( climber Clermont Foot Auvergne, AS Saint- Étienne, Grenoble Football, intermediate AS d' Origine Arménienne Valence, FC Istres -Ville Nouvelle )

Direct climb right were the top three clubs. The three lowest ranked participants had to dismount and were replaced by an equal number of non- league promoted.

Course of the season and Table

Each team wore against each group opponent a back and a leg off, even before a home crowd and once away. It was the three- point rule; case of a tie, the goal difference was the decisive factor for the placement.

Goalscorer and thus winning the league's top scorer was Cédric Fauré Master of Toulouse with 20 hits. For the following season three losers came from the Ligue 1 added (Le Havre AC, and CS Sedan ES Troyes AC); from the third- highest division increased to three teams, namely SCO Angers, Besançon Racing and FC Rouen.
