2002 Russian Premier League

The 2002 season was the first of Premjer League, the top Russian football league. It started on 8 March 2002 with the match Krylia Sovetov Samara against FK Elista and ended on 17 November 2002. Champion after a play between the tied clubs Moscow and CSKA locomotive locomotive.

Decision-making

Since Lokomotiv Moscow and CSKA Moscow were tied at the top at the end of the season, a play was performed for the championship. On 21 November 2002 Lokomotiv Moscow won the Dynamo Stadium 1-0 (6 min; D. Loskow ) and thus secured the championship title.
