2003–04 Vysshaya Liga season

The 2003/04 season the league Wysschaja was the twelfth season of the second highest Russian hockey league.

Mode

The 30 teams in the league Wysschaja were divided into two conferences before the season according to regional criteria. The Western Conference with 16 participants contained two teams more than the Eastern Conference with 14 teams. First, each team played four games against each team in their own conference, so the number of matches per team in the Western Conference and 60 in the Eastern Conference was 52.

The top eight teams from each conference qualified for the playoffs then, ascended the two finalists directly in the Super League. Since Ust-Kamenogorsk as Kazakh club was not allowed to participate in the playoffs, Sauralje Kurgan moved by. For a win within regular time each team received three points with a victory after extra two points, a draw and one defeat after extra time there was a point and a defeat after regular time zero points.
