2003 IIHF Women's World Championship

The 8th World Ice Hockey Championships for women in 2003 should take place as follows or found as follows instead.

After the Olympic year 2002, no world champion was determined among women in 2003. The tournament of the top Division was awarded to the Chinese capital Beijing, in which the life-threatening pneumonia SARS had broken the discharge time point as in many parts of China. The World Hockey Association therefore decided to cancel the tournament. In the downstream divisions found the respective tournaments taking place as planned. World cup

Because of the SARS epidemic in the People's Republic of China, the World Cup failed. The plan was to host the World Cup from 3 to 9 April 2003.

After the preliminary round, the semi-finals and finals and game would be followed by 3rd place for the best four teams. The other teams would have played out the losers and the other placements in the KO system.
