2003 World Women's Handball Championship
The 16th World Handball Championship for Women was held in Croatia on 2 December to 14 December 2003. A total of 24 teams entered in the preliminary round and main round in groups against each other. After the final round, followed with a group phase, which took place after the semi-finals and finals as well as the classification matches to the remaining places.
The World Cup was played in a total of 6 cities. During the preliminary round in Split, Poreč, Karlovac and Čakovec were held, found the knockout games held in Zagreb and Rijeka.
World champion was the team of France by a 32:29 victory in the final against Hungary.
