2004–05 Czech 1. Liga season

The season 2004 /05 was the twelfth regular hosting of the first league, the second Czech hockey league. In the playoffs, the HC České Budějovice prevailed, who qualified for the Extra Liga relegation in which he prevailed against HC Dukla Jihlava and advancement. So the HC České Budějovice for the defeat in last year's relegation and the associated decline in Dukla Jihlava could return the favor. The HC Slezan Opava and the IHC Pisek descended into the 2nd league.

Mode

In the main round each of the 14 teams completed a total of 52 games. The eight highest ranked teams qualified for the playoffs. For the teams ranked 9-12 the season was ended prematurely. The two last placed the main round had to play in the relegation for the league. For a victory after regulation time, each team received three points with a victory after overtime to give two points for a draw and one defeat after overtime there was a point. For one defeat after regulation time gave no points.

The two last placed 1st League met in the relegation to the three best teams in the second league. The HC Slezan Opava and the IHC Pisek descended into the 2nd league and was replaced by TJ Slovan Jindřichův Hradec and the HC Prostějov.
