2004–05 DFB-Pokal
DFB Cup winner in 2005 was the FC Bayern Munich. In the final at the Olympiastadion Berlin Bayern Munich won on May 28, 2005 2-1 against FC Schalke 04, who had turned in the semifinals to defending champion Werder Bremen on penalties.
Both finalists participated in the UEFA Champions League 2005 /06 in part, in the excreting Bavaria Siro to face AC Milan and Schalke moved to the group stage as a group of third parties in the UEFA Cup in 2005/ 06, in the semi-final against eventual winners FC Seville the blow came. As the sixth Bundesliga Bayer 04 Leverkusen was allowed to participate in the UEFA Cup, but already retired in the 1st round against the Bulgarian champions CSKA Sofia.

* In the course of the football betting scandal is proven that the game was rigged. However, it was not replayed, as already more rounds of the Cup were played, the Hamburger SV was financially compensated.
