2004–05 Kazakhstan Hockey Championship

The 2004/05 season was the 13th season of the Kazakh hockey professional league. It took seven clubs, which featured a total of eight teams in the competition. The title of the Kazakh champion secured to the total twelfth time Kaszink - Torpedo Ust- Kamenogorsk. Ust- Kamenogorsk thus won for the sixth time in a row the championship.

Mode

The eight participants played in a four- round, so that each team came up with the number of 28 games. The team with the most points at the end secured the championship.

For a victory in the regular time of 60 minutes, a team received three points, the losing opponent went away empty-handed. Event of a tie, it was the first time ever in the extension. If there was no goal and it remained in the draw, each team got a point. When struck, the winner received two points, the loser had to make do with one.

Final Table

After the 28 rounds Kaszink - Torpedo Ust- Kamenogorsk secured the league title with five points ahead of Kasachmys Karaganda. The team won 25 of its Ust- Kamenogorsks 28 games, defending the title. Kasachmys Karaganda won for the second time the runner-up title. The runner-up last year, Gornjak Rudny, was third. Kasachmys Karaganda was his second team to participate in the championship mode. It was end of the season in sixth place. The HK CSKA Temirtau had to stop the operation of gambling completely, as the Kazakh Ministry of Defense closed the ice rink in Temirtau until further notice after the end of the 14th game day. The scheduled games ZSKAs was counted each with three points and 5-0 goals for the opponent.

Kaszink - Torpedo Ust- Kamenogorsk and Karaganda Kasachmys played during the season in parallel in the second-rate Russian Wysschaja league. The second teams Ust- Kamenogorsks and Karaganda, as well as Barys Astana, Gornjak Rudny and Irtysh Pavlodar HK ran on the third-rate Russian Perwaja league. In addition Kaszink Torpedo Ust- Kamenogorsk participated in the IIHF Continental Cup part in the 2004/05 season and reached the third round here again.
